I received an email asking for our stars! This is what it said:
I will soon be casting a film in SLC called “The Jerk Theory” about a high school senior who reads that women are more attracted to jerks than nice guys, so he tries to prove the theory, which makes for some very comedic situations.
The filmmakers have chosen to reveal his true loving persona through his young sister (7-10 years old) who has Down syndrome. The boy’s relationship with her – and with his parents – is sweet and special. At no point is the little girl made fun of in ANY way.
I need to find that little girl and was hoping that you could point me in the right direction. It would be great if we could find a little girl with acting experience, but I will audition anyone and know that I will find a ‘natural.’
I would GREATLY appreciate any help I can get from your organization.
Thanks!
Catrine McGregor
So, I asked Catrine to send more information, “who was she?” I didn’t know. And she sent this:
I have a dual Master’s Degree from Loyola University in Education and Film/TV, have written a book about acting called Acting Across America and have been a producer and casting director for over 30 years. Feel free to check my credits at
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004635/ , or look me up at www.otellus.com speaker’s bureau, where I’m listed right under Dr. Phil. You can also call the Utah State Film Commission or the Casting Society of America in Los Angeles. The director of the project is Scott Anderson, who directs many of the projects at Tuacahn in St. George. Let me know if you need more references.
