Julia Evans

Julia Evans 1959 ~ 2008 Julia Evans, 48, of Orem, UT passed away suddenly after complications following breast cancer surgery. She died in the arms of her loving mother on March 20, 2008. Julia was born September 26, 1959 in Salt Lake City, UT to Dean and Janice Evans, the third of six children. Julia was born with Down's syndrome and was a joy and inspiration to all who knew her. She was a special daughter of our Heavenly Father sent to earth to help us learn how to treat others in a Christ-like manner showing unconditional love and acceptance for all. Her special spirit and tender hugs will be greatly missed by everyone. She attended school in Arizona, graduating from Sahuaro High School with a Special Ed certificate. She enjoyed participating in Special Olympics. Julia had a gift for remembering birthdates and ages. She particularly enjoyed a Primary calling preparing birthday cards for the children. She enjoyed working at several different companies, and her favorite job was sorting hangers at Deseret Industries. When asked what kind of work she was doing in her later years, she would tell people she was retired. Julia enjoyed disco dancing, writing, coloring, watching movies, and sibling sleepovers. Julia is survived by her dear mother, Janice; and siblings, Elaine (Craig) Huish, Gary (Renee) Evans, Jeanine (Ron) McFarland, Linda, Chris (Angie) Evans; and 15 nieces and nephews. She was greeted in heaven by the open arms of her father, Dean who finished his life's work on earth last year. The family is grateful for the love and kindness given to Julia at the Lindon and Provo Care Centers during the past 15 years. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Sundberg Olpin Mortuary Chapel located at 495 S. State St, Orem, UT. Friends may call at the mortuary 12-1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will follow at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sundbergolpin-mortuary.com
